Joe joined the Proximity London team in 2018, having previously been General Manager at BBDO Singapore. In his new role as Managing Director, he’s now focusing all his energy on delivering against his twin obsessions of Braver Growth and Braver Creative.
Starting his career at Iris London, Joe was exposed to both a wide range of categories and a myriad of disciplines. After two years in London, Joe volunteered to be part of a three-man team to open Iris Singapore. Over the next eight years, he built regional brands like Visa, won local new business such as Tiger Beer and created award winning work for Guinness. As a result of these successes, Joe swiftly rose through the ranks to lead the office as General Manager. It was also in Singapore that Joe took the opportunity to join BBDO, running two of the world’s most iconic brands – Gillette and Guinness.
After failing miserably at football, cricket and tennis, Joe eventually found a sport where low-skill but high-bulk gave him a distinct advantage – rugby. Having played at school, county, university and in many tournaments over the years, the highlight of Joe’s playing career was being capped for the mighty rugby nation of Singapore (currently ranked 59th in the world), first against Malaysia and then Sri Lanka.
