Senior Account Manager - VW


We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to work on one of our flagship clients – Volkswagen Group Financial Services.

This account is part of our established Volkswagen group relationship, which covers 6 core brands – Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, SEAT, SKODA, AUDI and Volkswagen Financial Services.

We would expect the role to be, on the whole, 100% FS (Financial Services)




FS are an incredibly important arm of the Volkswagen Group brands. More and more people are now buying cars on finance plans to spread the cost of payment, rather than pay one large, lump sum amount in cash. The customers who do so, are owned by FS. With this shift in the way people are buying cars, the FS portfolio is growing at a staggering rate, making FS an integral and highly valuable part of the business.


FS have to maintain close ties with brands within the Volkswagen group (SEAT, SKODA, AUDI, VW and VWCV). Proximity also look after these brands, so the FS team look to us to help them get the most out of the brand teams and therefore deliver the best work from an FS perspective.


Our main role is to provide creative and implementation for FS customers in life, ensuring the best consumer experience and ultimately repurchase with their chosen brand. To do so, we work closely with Merkle the database agency. As the work on FS covers the 5 brands in the Group, there is requirement for stakeholder management across a wide network of brands and teams.


We currently have a number of different EM and DM comms set up across the 5 Volkswagen Group brands for FS, which the SAM would be responsible for updating and running through the agency. The SAM would be expected to help the FS team to manage the 5 brands, ensuring all work ladders back to brand strategy, TOV and look and feel. In doing so, stakeholder management is extremely important. The role reports directly to an Account Director.

  • Creative work along the entire consumer journey – ensuring that all stakeholders within FS and the brands have been managed



Our communications for FS are primarily direct mail and email across the 5 VWG brands.

This is a key hire for the team, with this role being the lead in the delivery of all FS campaigns across the brands. You will be responsible for running all FS projects through the agency.

You would be reporting into an Account Director.




The role will suit an experienced Account Manager looking for a step up or a new SAM with a passion for delivery of work.


This role is very delivery focused, with core responsibility being the successful running of DM and EM projects through the agency. So the successful candidate will need previous experience in running multiple EM and DM projects at one time. Experience in print production is a must, as is experience in briefing copywriters / designers.


There will often be many projects on at one time, as the 5 VWG brands will always be covered for FS, so an ability to juggle plates and prioritise is crucial. An interest in financial services and cars is not essential but preferred.


The person must also be able to manage and build strong relationships both internally, to push the work through and externally, managing clients. A self-starter, they’ll be someone who is comfortable working autonomously, using their initiative, and working as part of a large team.
