Junior Project Manager - SSE

The candidate will be joining team SSE and working across the account’s key Business Units; Energy, Telecommunications, Home Services and smart meters.

More delivery support is required on the account, so we are looking for a Junior Project Manager to support the increased volume of work.


A bit of background


You’ll report into the Project Director within the client portfolio.  Working in partnership with the Client Leadership Team, as well as closely with Planning, Data and UX and Creative on the team. You’ll be responsible for delivery across all aspects of the account.


The role will be client facing so the person we appoint will be confident, smart, enthusiastic and proactive. Great at working with everyone in the agency, a people person who can bring everyone together and negotiate to ensure we meet our deliverables but in a way that is empathetic and sensitive to the needs of other accounts too.


The SSE team are a great bunch who really embrace Project Management as a function.  Although this is one brand, it offers a range of products such as Phone and Broadband, Energy and smart metering.

  • Ideally 1-3 years delivery experience in an agency. Ideally CRM experience but not essential


You’ll be able to work quickly across multiple projects at different stages, encouraging others to do the same without losing attention to detail or focus on delivering within the specified scope.


The successful candidate will need to deliver a range of print and digital CRM projects (email and DM) to scope, time and budget. The SSE team approach every challenge with high energy and an enthusiasm to produce outstanding work for our clients, which is reflected throughout the buzzing atmosphere of the agency.

What you’ll need to do this role well…

You’ll need to follow robust project processes with the flexibility to change and adapt as needed, all the time keeping your projects and team on track.

You’ll be a proactive self-starter, able to quickly and confidently build great relationships in the agency and a strong, positive and calm energy in the team.

Above all else, you’ll have the experience and skills to manage the day-to-day delivery of the work, ensuring it’s on time, to budget and uses agency resource effectively and efficiently.

Your specific responsibilities include…

  • Being the delivery partner for the day-to-day Client Leadership team, and ‘champion’ internal delivery processes
  • Specific project scoping including timings, SoW documents, resource management and booking
  • Supporting the Project Director in producing reconciliation reports
  • Ensuring all work is produced to the highest standard and approved by the right people, whilst being delivered in the most efficient method
  • Supporting the Client Leadership team in scoping out of scope opportunities
  • To work on a variety of email and DM campaigns ensuring each are clearly defined whilst being delivered within timeframes and budget
  • Proactively find solutions to delivery issues and problems
  • Briefing creative, design and production teams
  • Liaising with clients and being the expert on delivery where required
  • Owning any 3rd party production relationships that you require to deliver the work. For SSE this will include working with EG+, SSE’s print and fulfilment team and CGI partner.

We’d also like you to have:

  • A great understanding of the creative and design development process and how to get the best out of everyone
  • The ability to manage, prioritise and deliver briefs error free, on brief, and with resource/budget efficiency
