Proximity hires John Vinton as Creative Partner

John Vinton will join the agency as Creative Partner from his role as Deputy Creative Director at Archibald Ingall Stretton.

Reporting to Executive Creative Director, John Treacy, Vinton will work closely with Creative Partner Jo Jenkins across the agency’s main brands.

John will join Proximity in March after a total of 13 years at AIS where he returned in 2003 following a two year stint at Craik Jones.

Over his long career, John has received a number of accolades at Cannes, Creative Circle, Caples, DMA and Eurobest. He was recently recognised in Campaign’s the Annual 2013 in the Top 10 engagement campaigns for SKODA and Top 10 Press ads for the attention grabbing “I wish my son had cancer” campaign for Harrison’s Fund, which powerfully shines a light on the suffering of children with Muscular Dystrophy.

As well as picking up awards, John is regularly found judging them. He has served on the panels at D&AD, Creative Circle, DMA and the FABs.

In his time before joining AIS, Vinton also worked as a copywriter and Group Head at many of London’s leading integrated agencies including TBWA, G2 Joshua and Wunderman.

This new addition is another of ECD John Treacy’s hires that add further strength and depth to the creative capabilities of Proximity London, in the wake of recent significant new business wins for the agency.

John Treacy said, “I’ve been lucky enough to work with John twice before and I know what a powerful addition to the creative department he’ll make. He’s one of the most awarded and talented writers in London and I know he’ll act as an inspiring mentor for many of the more junior members of the team. We’re looking forward to having him on board.”
