Joe joined the Proximity London team from BBDO Singapore, where he spent the last eight years building regional brands like Visa, winning local new business such as Tiger Beer and creating award winning work for Guinness, all of which saw him swiftly rise through the ranks to lead the office as General Manager. In his new role as Managing Director, Joe will focus all his energy on delivering against our twin obsessions of Braver Growth and Braver Creative.
Starting his career at iris London, Joe was exposed to both a wide range of categories and a myriad of disciplines from day one. From running national sales promotion for Jack’s (Daniels) Birthday to rolling out regional advertising campaigns for Shark Week on Discovery Channel. After two years in London, Joe volunteered to be part of a three-man team to open iris Singapore. It was in Singapore that Joe got the opportunity to join BBDO to run Gillette & Guinness, two of the most iconic brands on the planet. Over time his remit expanded to driving new business, pushing the awards agenda and eventually running the office.
After failing miserably at football, cricket and tennis, eventually Joe found a sport where low-skill but high-bulk gave you the advantage, rugby. Having played at school, county, university and in many tournaments over the years, there’s not much cartilage left in the knees or shoulders. The highlight of Joe’s playing career was being capped for the mighty rugby nation of Singapore, currently ranked 59th in the world, first against Malaysia and then Sri Lanka.
